
Joe (“Cup ‘o Joe”)
Meet Joseph, a 30-year-old Quarter Horse standing at 15.2 hands tall. While he may not be the largest horse around, his gentle temperament and impressive skills more than compensate for his size. With a calm and steady disposition, Joe is an ideal partner for riders of all ages and levels, from 2-year-olds taking their first steps in the saddle to 12-year-olds mastering the canter. As a rescue horse, Joe has found a fulfilling role in his golden years, delighting in introducing children to the joys of horseback riding while enjoying a comfortable transition into retirement.

Max (“Maximus Prime”)
Max, a 26-year-old Belgian draft horse towering at 18.2 hands, embodies the term “gentle giant.” Despite his imposing size, Max is incredibly affectionate and adored by children of all ages. While he welcomes riders of various skill levels, Max primarily serves as a mount for slightly older and more advanced children, as well as adults with diverse riding experiences, allowing other horses like Joe and Colby to guide the younger learners. As a rescue horse, Max is approaching his fifth anniversary at Thorberchon Farm, where he continues to play a vital role as a beloved lesson horse.

Sam (“Sampson”)
Meet Sampson, a 25-year-old Percheron draft horse with a wide range of talents, excelling in disciplines from jumping to driving. Standing tall at 18.2 hands, Sampson is another gentle giant on the farm. His versatility makes him an ideal mount for adults at any stage of riding expertise and older, more advanced children who are confident in their horsemanship skills.

Colby (“Starfire”)
Colby, an 20-year-old chestnut Quarter Horse standing at 14 hands, arrived at Thorberchon Farm alongside his companion Chocolate in April 2022. Since then, he has become an integral part of our lesson program. With his versatile nature, Colby is suitable for riders of all ages and abilities. Additionally, he thoroughly enjoys venturing out on the trails, adding an extra dimension to his repertoire.

Captain (“Captain Morgan”)
Captain is an 13-year-old Morgan/Haflinger cross with experience both in driving and under saddle. He boasts a calm, quiet demeanor and a sturdy, big-boned build. Captain enjoys being groomed and appreciates the attention and care he receives, making him a pleasure to work with. Captain is currently out on lease at but we get regular updates on him and his adventures.

Tater (“Tater Tot”)
Tater Tot became a part of Thorberchon Farm in May 2022, bringing with him an irresistible charm. At 18 years old, this blue roan miniature horse may be small in stature, but his personality is larger than life! Tater adores attention and treats, and his favorite pastimes include being groomed, showcasing adorable tricks, and imparting riding lessons to our youngest equestrians. But don’t be fooled by his cuteness! Tater Tot is a smart and crafty little pony who bides his time for the perfect opportunity to dash off and enjoy a taste of freedom.

Charlie (“Charlie Brown”)
Charlie, a 25-year-old pony, became a valued member of the Thorberchon Farm crew in September 2022. With his graceful movements and spirited personality, Charlie captures attention wherever he goes. Renowned for his bravery, he relishes beach and trail rides, showcasing his adventurous spirit. Additionally, Charlie takes on the role of the farm’s unofficial “social coordinator,” keeping track of his fellow equine companions with frequent whinnies throughout the day.

Rambo (“LMP CacDi’s First Edition”)
Bo, a 11-year-old Belgian, came from the SUNY Morrisville College driving team, where he competed extensively across the country in single hitch, as well as 4 and 6 horse driving teams, showcasing his impressive skills at shows and fairs. Since joining Thorberchon Farm in November 2023, Bo has made remarkable strides in adapting to riding under saddle. Beyond his newfound equestrian talents, Bo has revealed his incredibly friendly and affectionate personality, akin to that of a lovable puppy.

Ruger (“Ottercreek’s Wingtip”)
Ruger is a 8-year-old Welsh Cross who joined the Thorberchon Farm family in April 2025 and quickly won everyone’s hearts with his peppy personality and cuddly nature. Ruger loves jumping and trail rides, and he’s always up for an adventure. He gets along with all the horses at the farm, but has a special bond with his buddy, Tater.

Nash (“MA Nash”)
Nash is a 5-year-old Belgian gelding who joined Thorberchon Farm after the driving program at SUNY Morrisville came to an end. Before arriving at the farm, Nash traveled across the country as part of an impressive six-horse hitch, showcasing the strength, teamwork, and elegance of the Belgian breed.
Today, Nash is enjoying a new chapter as a lesson and dressage horse. His kind, gentle nature and willing attitude make him a favorite among riders, and he’s quickly proving that he loves learning just as much as he loves teaching. When he’s not in the arena, Nash can usually be found relaxing in the pasture with his best buddy, Auggie, soaking up the quiet farm life he has so easily embraced.

Cash (“Johnny Cash”)
Cash is a senior-grade Quarter Horse who joined the Thorberchon Farm family in 2026 alongside his longtime paddock mate, Lizzy. With his sweet personality and friendly demeanor, Cash is always ready to greet visitors with a cheerful whinny as they enter the barn.
Cash is comfortable riding both English and Western. His smooth jog and effortless lope make him a pleasure to ride, helping students develop confidence and feel comfortable in the saddle. Cash’s steady nature and willing attitude make him a wonderful addition to the lesson program.

Lizzy (“Smooth Sailing”)
Lizzy is a senior Arabian cross who joined the Thorberchon Farm family in June 2026 alongside her longtime buddy, Cash. While she can be a little shy when meeting new people, it doesn’t take long for her sweet and affectionate personality to shine through.
Known for being one of the smoothest horses on the farm to ride, Lizzy offers a comfortable, enjoyable experience for riders of all levels. We’re excited to welcome her into the lesson program and discover all she has to offer. We look forward to exploring her talents in dressage and jumping and taking her to local horse shows.
Our Boarders

Tac (“Firetack”)
Tac, a 19-year-old chestnut Thoroughbred, belongs to Kellie Femino and has been a cherished resident of Thorberchon Farm since October 2021. A descendant of Secretariat, Tac boasts an impressive racing background, including a notable victory at Churchill Downs during his brief career on the track. Now, Tac relishes the slower pace of life at the farm, enjoying his time working in the ring, occasional trail rides, and playful outings in the field with his companions. While Tac isn’t a regular member of the lesson program, he delights in making guest appearances at camps from time to time.

Onyx (“Onyx by Steve’s Grace”
Onyx is a striking and curious 5-year-old mare, who loves snuggles and treats. She is a true “Thorberchon”, or a Percheron Thoroughbred cross.
Onyx is cherished gift to Kellie from Steve, a dear friend and co-owner of Thorberchon Farm who passed away. Onyx carries not only strength and beauty but also a profound sentimental value. Her sleek coat glistens in the sunlight, and her intelligent eyes reflect both wisdom and curiosity.
More than just a horse, Onyx is a symbol of resilience, friendship, and cherished memories. She stands as a living tribute to Steve’s generosity and love for the farm, ensuring that his legacy lives on with every stride.

Lilibet (“Laurel Highland Lilibet III”)
Meet Lilibet, the adorable 7-year-old Fell pony directly descended from the royal herd in England! Her charming personality and cute face are a testament to her fantastic bloodlines. Though Lilibet isn’t a full-time resident at Thorberchon Farm, her owner, Shannon, boards her with us for training, and she’s adored by everyone just the same.

Elvis (“The Flying Dutchman”)
Elvis is a 8-year-old Morgan cross and has a sweet and lovable personality. Elvis is loved by many from his goofy personality to his lovely movements that he likes to show off while playing and fighting with the other horses in the field. Elvis loves to work whether it is ground work, jumping, dressage, and more. Elvis joined the Thorberchon farm in November of 2024 after coming from Maryland and is owned and loved by Camille and the Wuellenweber family.

Tom (“Tom’s Affair”)
Tom, a 8-year-old registered Quarter Horse owned by Cassidy Madigan, is a striking grullo (not a buckskin!) known for his playful and goofy demeanor. While he adores ring work, Tom’s true passion lies in racing. Though he may not participate in lessons or summer camps, he thrives on receiving attention and affection from everyone at the farm.

Boots (“Sir Boots, Duke of Lizards”)
Boots is a handsome Paint Horse who shares a special partnership with his owner and best friend, Sean. The two are always ready for their next adventure, whether it’s hitting the trails, competing in ranch riding, or putting their skills to work herding cattle.
With his dependable nature and adventurous spirit, Boots thrives when he’s out exploring beyond the farm. His strong bond with Sean is evident in everything they do together, making them a true team both in and out of the saddle. From quiet trail rides to exciting new challenges, Boots is happiest with his favorite person by his side..

Rocket (“Some Like It Hot”)
Rocket is a senior thoroughbred mare who loves the company of people, especially her owners Sarah and Bella. Sarah has been riding Rocket since she was a green 6 year old who was bred and trained to be a racehorse. In their time together, they have had incredible adventures, including camping with friends, swimming, competing in eventing and foxhunting in the first field as members of the Tanheath Hunt Club. After taking many years off from showing, Bella rode 24yo Rocket as part of the Bow High School Equestrian team in 2024, and they ended the season with an impressive 3rd place finish in WTC suitablity.

Auggie (“Vestment”)
Auggie is a 6 year old thoroughbred who transitioned off the track in May 2024. Auggie is athletic with a gentle and affectionate nature, and he delights in giving kisses. His owner, Bella, is excited to explore new activities with him, including eventing.
